An unusual record for the Niagara River was a flock of 22 Whimbrel, flying north from Beaver Island SP on the 2nd. Very nice documentation by Tony Dvorak.

Carl Carbone caught up with this Yellow-billed Cuckoo in South Wales, NY on the 9th. Both cuckoo species have been reported in higher than usual numbers this year; possibly in response to a local Gypsy Moth outbreak.

This Marbled Godwin was a sweet find by Dan Pay at Wainfleet Wetlands Conservation Area in Niagara on the 9th. The bird stayed until the 12th, delighting many observers. Kayo Roy took this photo on the 9th.

Kyle Brock found this male Lesser Scaup at Allegany SP on the 17th. This is an odd time of year to stumble upon this species...especially away from the Great Lakes! The bird continued until at least the 24th.
