MONTHLY photos contributed by our members for November - 2024.
On the weekend of 22-24, there was a push of Cave Swallows through the eastern Great Lakes. Being of tropical/southerly origin, many cannot survive the cold temperatures and lack of food that the Northeast ‘offers’. Combined with the impressive distance that these birds travel, many birds end up moribund. Gale VerHague photographed this individual at the Dunkirk Pier on the 23rd.
