Joel Strong found a very uncommon occurrence of an overwintering Chipping Sparrow in Appleton on the 4th. It was seen gritting along a road with American Tree Sparrows.

Red Crossbills at Hatch Creek State Forest in Chautauqua County. They have also been confirmed building a nest!!!

After much searching for Red Crossbills in this exceptional year for them, Josh Ketry's tireless efforts paid off with a nice sighting of a group in Ashford Hollow (Cattaraugus County).

Carl Carbone took this photo of a Rusty Blackbird at his backyard feeder in South Wales, Erie County on the 25th. This bird is likely an early migrant vs an overwintering bird.
