Bill Massaro and his wide were driving north on the 190 on July 1 when they both spotted a Brown Pelican flying overhead! The bird has continued for several days in the general area. Bill took this photo on the 3rd as the bird rested on the pier at the north end of Unity Island. This same pier has hosted a Cattle Egret and the famous Elegant Tern from 2013!

On the 1st, Gale VerHague located this Western Willet on the beach at Dunkirk Harbor after torrential rains. This bird is likely an early migrant headed back to the eastern seaboard after breeding/attempted breeding in the prairies of central North America.
