Originally reported on June 28 by Bill Massaro, this Brown Pelican was relocated by Charlie Kaars on the 1st at the north end of Unity Island. Phil Mills followed up on the report and gathered several great images of this rarity.

On the 1st, Gale VerHague located this Western Willet on the beach at Dunkirk Harbor after torrential rains. This bird is likely an early migrant headed back to the eastern seaboard after breeding/attempted breeding in the prairies of central North America.
